Beginner’s 4-week Calligraphy Course in Hinckley

£60 (plus £20 for equipment bundle)

This course is great for beginners or people wanting to improve their style and flair. Jane will teach you all the tips and tricks to getting started and you will finish the course with everything you need to go it alone.

So, if you are planning your wedding or just want to give it a go this course is perfect for you.

• Week 1 – Introduction to Modern Calligraphy, Holding the pen and getting the nib angle correct. Basic exercises and letter structure
• Week 2 – Continuity and smooth, even flow of letters. Understand the difference between ink and metallic paints.
• Week 3 – Understand design and layout to begin making a small greeting card. Learn why calligraphy rulers and soapstone pencils are so useful as well as learning blend techniques.
• Week 4 – Put all your lessons together, complete all trouble shooting and create your own finished masterpiece.

Equipment Bundle

Jane has put together an equipment bundle so that you are all starting off on the right foot with everything you need for the 4-week course. It includes nibs x2 ink, metallic paint (Coliro), penholder, laminated practice lines, example sheets, layout practice paper and paintbrush – all for £20.
Upgrade for another £8 to get the modern calligraphy booklet and full layout practice pad (pad alone is normally £8).
