Elvish Calligraphy Class and Workshop

Join expert Calligrapher Jane Lappage at Sarehole Mill in November for a Celtic Calligraphy workshop.

The Celtic language and writing style served as an inspiration for Lord of the Rings author J.R.R. Tolkien who spent his childhood years exploring the grounds surrounding Sarehole Mill.

Jane will guide you through the script, practice and design layout in this workshop so you can create your own message in the Celtic style. Pens, ink, practice paper and a blank Celtic circle will be provided so you can create whatever you want to say in the centre.

Jane only works with products she has tried and tested and all things used will be available to buy at the end if you want to continue practice and creating using your new found skill.

Refreshments will be available to purchase from the tea room.

We have two timeslots available at 10am – 12.45pm and 1.15pm – 4pm on 12th November. Each workshop lasts approximately 2hrs 45 mins.

Pre-booking is essential.

This event is not free for members.

Birmingham Museums Trust is a registered charity and money raised through events like this help us care for beautiful buildings like Sarehole Mill. We thank you for your support and kindness.
